Unit 6 – First Floor Studio with back patio

About this space

A self-contained furnished apartment is available in the heart of the University of Pennsylvania for mid-term guests. There is a small electric stove, a refrigerator, and a microwave for light cooking. Great, safe, tree-lined, 24-hour block. A lot of my clients are repeat customers, especially guests who are visiting their children at Penn, Doctors, Nurses, and patients visiting the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Penn Hospital, or Doctoral candidates visiting with their Professors, Wharton students, etc. Past guests have been from Australia, Korea, China, Kazakhstan, India, Singapore, Chile, Peru, Kenya, Germany, Austria, Nigeria, Spain (lots of Spaniards!), Austria, Netherlands, Serbia, Mexico, etc.

The space

The first thing my guests mention is how safe they feel in the neighborhood. 43rd Street is unique because it is quiet but busy enough so that you do not feel isolated. Cars drive by nearly throughout the night and there is also enough pedestrian traffic up and down this street, so you are constantly in the presence of other passers-by. The building is an old Victorian with a charming porch, lots of wood trims, and high ceilings. The space was recently renovated and resplendently furnished. The bathroom is a glass enclosure with a rainfall shower head high enough for a seven-footer. And you are barely a block from renowned Clark Park – the famous Clark Park, which becomes a farmers’ market on Saturdays. Check it out if you are in town. You are also surrounded by a great variety of restaurants and cafes.

Guest access

The building’s common lobby is right out of your own door. You may decide to host guests here instead of in your unit. The laundry is also available to longer-staying guests – 4 days or more.
